Francois’ Top Tips – Colin-Camps, France

Before dropping us off near the highway to Abbeville, Francois, our gracious host in Colin-Camps gives us some sage advice:

1. “Go to Mont St Michel, Normandy – it is a spectacular 13th century walled city on an island.”

2. “If you go to Marseilles, watch out for pickpockets!”

3. “When you enter a town, go to the Office De Tourisme, for advice in English and free wee-fee (WiFi)”

4. “The south of France is beautiful, but it is full of rich people and overpriced restaurants.”

5. “France is full of chateaux, but they not all equal.  Go to Mont-St-Michel !”

6. “I have packed a few souvenirs for you; a map, wine, cheese and two kinds of sausage.   Do not eat the sausage all at once.   One is very hard and will last for a week.”

As soon as Francois drives away, we find a shady tree, get drunk, and eat all the sausage at once.  It is delicious.  It takes four days to digest.
