Today the American Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) announced that they will not be changing the legal status of marijuana as a schedule 1 illegal drug under US federal law.

So this crazy situation exists in states like Colorado and California, where growers and distributors have created a multi-billion dollar dope industry, which is legal under the law of those states, but still banned by the US federal government.
What that means is that the legal marijuana industry is unable to use the US banking systems, and that producers and users can still be arrested and jailed by federal authorities like the DEA and FBI for conducting their state sanctioned business.

Todays news from the DEA reminded me of a speech I heard ‘Dab Star‘ Jonah Tacoma give at ‘High Times Cannabis Cup‘ a couple of weeks ago.

Compared to all the priveleged-baby-boomer-bullshit i hear coming out of the US presidential race, the words of this celebrity drug dealer sound comparatively inspiring and identifiable to me.
