5 Things Every Traveler Needs In Their Bag!

I’m what hikers call a ‘gram Nazi’.  I’m obsessed with making my backpack lighter and more compact.
Less is usually more, when it comes to gear, but some things are so useful, you just got to have ’em!
Every item on this list is worth it’s weight, ten times over.

#5. Super Glue

Gotta have it because:
– it can fix your backpack
– it can fix your clothes
– it can fix your bed
– it can fix anything!

#4. Micro LED Flashlight

Gotta have it because:
– it’s really bright
– it is so tiny you can keep it in your pocket all the time
– the battery lasts for ages
– you can buy them on eBay for less than US$2.00

#3. USB Car Adaptor

Gotta have it because:
– if you hitchhike like I do, you can charge your phone while you ride with people

#2. Bushman Plus Insect Repellant Ointment

Gotta have it because:
– in the tropics mosquitoes can give you some really nasty diseases
– I have tried so many different insect repellents, and this is the best one by far
– it is very concentrated, so you only need a tiny amount for each application
– it is not a spray, so the container is as compact as possible
– it’s water resistant
– it really works, even in the tropics!

#1. Sawyer Mini Water Filter

Gotta have it because:
– you can safely drink from rivers, lakes, and dirty tap water
– you can stop wasting money on expensive bottled water, and reduce your plastic consumption
– it works immediately, no waiting
– the nano fibre filter works forever, no cartridge replacement required
– it’s super compact
– it screw’s onto the top of any generic water bottle
– I’ve been using it for more than 12 months, and it is still working beautifully
