After Confest last week, Nia and I spent a couple of days in Wagga Wagga.
Wagga is my home town, where I grew up. I hadn’t been back there for about 15 years, and although a few things had changed, the town was much like I remembered.
We camped on the Murrumbidgee River bank (Wagga Beach, as it is optimistically called by the chamber of commerce), and barbecued lamb cutlets in the twilight with a bottle of sparkling wine. I also got myself a new hat at an army disposal store. My old straw hat died a while back, so i got a tougher one, made of kangaroo hide, which has a clever design allowing it to be flattened or crushed into a bag, without damage. It should come in handy when im trying to look cool and sophisticated in Europe later this year.
